Another gorgeous doggy needing a home urgently. You might remember Blaze who came over into foster. Well he found a lovely home but we now need to find him one more suited to him. Blaze is a Beagle, his passport DoB is 0/10/2020 but the UK vets believe he is much younger at about 2-3 years old. His current owner says this about Blaze: Blaze is calm and happy to snuggle up for a cuddle 40% of the time but the other 60% of the time he is hyperactive and gets over excited which is when he can be destructive if left unattended. His behaviour is very puppyish. He is good on the lead generally although he does pull a little if he sees other dogs he wants to talk to. Blaze is a Beagle, so very food orientated, although shows no aggression at all around food. Blaze absolutely adores meeting other dogs and is very friendly. Blaze loves to meet other people when out and about is very friendly. He doesn’t chase cats His toilet training is still a work in progress. He sleeps in his crate at night, which is in our bedroom, with no problem. He will sleep for a good 7 hours. He doesn’t really like to go in his crate during the day but can be persuaded if you put a frozen Kong in with him. On the rare occasions we have had to leave him, he has to go in his crate otherwise he would be destructive if left unattended He loves being with his humans and constantly follows us around and doesn’t like us to be out of his sight. I truly believe that he would benefit from a home with another dog who could guide him and play with him when he is getting bored. We have tried to stimulate him mentally using various enrichment toys but this doesn’t always seem to satisfy him. I think he needs a home where the owner can be with him the majority of the time and preferably doesn’t work and can supervise him and give him all the attention he needs. And a large garden would be a bonus! We have taken him to our vet who gave him a clean bill of health but was of the opinion he was no more than 2-3 years old especially considering his puppyish behaviour. He needs further toilet training and maybe some training to teach him how to be calmer. In the current home he has not been around children but he was around them in his previous foster homes and was lovely with them. Blaze is currently in Maidstone, Kent. Please message us if you'd like more information about Blaze. He is chipped, neutered and vaccinated ahd comes with rescue back up.
