Aspen

Aspen is a deaf pup, only 5 months old and in a shelter in Cyprus. Although Aspen is deaf, he’s just as playful and loving as any other pup. He’s already showing a chilled and gentle nature for his age, making him a wonderful companion.

Aspen needs a particular type of home. An adopter/family who have the patience and are willing to learn deaf dog behaviour and alternative training methods, such as hand signals/touch cues/body language. There will be communication barriers along the way, but with the right family, patience, and love, this boy will thrive.

They say a bond with a deaf dog is rather profound. They appreciate ways of communication which they can understand, and they form deep social bonds with those around them when they are given attention, time, and affection. 

We really hope Aspen doesn’t spend much longer in the shelter. He needs to find his family so he can start learning the ropes and find his way in life, given he has a different perception of the world to other dogs.
