Grants Officer – Voluntary Role

As our Volunteer Grants Officer, you will play a key role in identifying funding opportunities and writing compelling grant applications to help fund our rescue efforts. This is a flexible, remote opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of dogs in desperate need — while gaining valuable experience in grant writing and charity fundraising.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research suitable grants from trusts, foundations, corporate donors, and other funding bodies
  • Write and submit high-quality grant applications tailored to funders’ priorities
  • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with the team to gather statistics, case studies, and impact data for applications
  • Keep accurate records of applications, outcomes, and funder feedback
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with current and potential funders

What We’re Looking For

  • Some experience with writing or supporting grant applications (training can be provided)
  • Excellent written communication and research skills
  • Organised, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines
  • A genuine passion for animal welfare and the mission of Saving Souls Animal Rescue
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
