All about this dog…

Loco

I spent some time with Loco this week. He’s highly stressed in his kennel. Always desperate to get out. He’s a joy to be around once he’s out and you spend some time with him. He has that look in his eyes pleading you to help him. Wondering what he’s done wrong. He’s very affectionate and a bit goofy at times.

Although he gets on with females and submissive males, he is currently alone in his kennel as he has shown some resource guarding with food. This has no doubt made him feel more isolated, alone, and stressed. If he is to be homed with another dog then they need to be female, a non-dominant male, and be fed separately.

He’s approx 2.5 years old and the shelter have been working on his leash training, sit, and down. Due to the stress of the shelter, he is initially hyper on walks but soon calms down with love and reassurance. Any fosterer or adopter needs to be willing to put the work in to train him (he’s very food oriented).

We don’t know about his background but we do know that the situation he has found himself in is very upsetting for him.

Any children should be 10+ due to Loco’s strength.

Loco has a full bill of health, is vaccinated, spayed, and tested for infectious diseases. He can be adopted in the UK or Cyprus.
