Neli’s journey from hardship to hope
Neli’s story is one of resilience, hope, and quiet courage. Roughly two and a half years old, Neli currently lives in a Cyprus shelter. Her journey hasn’t been an easy one—brought into the shelter whilst heavily pregnant, she delivered her puppies soon after arrival. Still a mere youngster herself, Neli faced the world with the demands of motherhood resting heavily upon her shoulders.She was a wonderful mum to her pups and they have all been re-homed but poor Neli has been left behind.
Despite this challenging start, Neli’s spirit shines through. She is a small-medium sized Labrador cross (shorter than a pure Lab, more pocket sized Lab) - , and now, fully grown, she exudes a soft, gentle dignity. She is a timid girl , sweet natured and very calm. Her loving nature is unmistakable; she’s eager to please, quick to offer affection, and ever hopeful for a kind word or gentle touch. Once she has gained your trust she will climb on your lap for cuddles.  As with most Labradors she is very food orientated, and could easily be trained with some tasty treats.  She loves her walks as long as you do not expect her to run.  She is the kind of dog that could sit on a couch and snooze for hours.  She prefers a relaxing afternoon sunbathing than a hike!  She gets on well with other dogs but because of her low engery levels she would suit a home with a laid back older dog.  Neli has endeared herself to staff and visitors alike with her sweet temperament and quiet determination. 

Neli yearns for the chance she’s never had—a loving home and a special person who will cherish her as she deserves. After all she has endured, Neli is ready to leave her difficult past behind and become the loyal companion she was always meant to be. 
She would thrive with someone who offers patience, kindness, and the steady promise of security. Perfect for a couple 
or single person (providing you are not looking for a dog that will go on hikes or running), as she can be timid it is advised that she should only be homed with families with children aged 12 year plus.  Neli would make a fantastic companion for an older/retired person/s who are at home all day and are looking for a companion that doesn't have to be walked for miles.

•	Personality: Exceptionally friendly, easy-going, and calm. Neli adores cuddles and craves attention from both familiar faces and new friends.
•	Journey: Neli arrived at the shelter scared and cautious, but has blossomed into a loving soul who greets everyone with a wagging tail and a hopeful heart.
•	Good with Others: Neli is fantastic with other dogs, both male and female, and is gentle with children (over 12 years old).
•	Low Maintenance: She shows no signs of aggression, food guarding, or dominance, and is comfortable, albeit a bit nervous during vet visits.
•	Needs a Confident, Patient Home: Neli is still learning about the world outside the shelter. She’s a little unsure about collars, leads, harnesses, and car rides,  (she will drool and pant) so a patient adopter who can help her build confidence is essential.
•	Training: Basic training will be needed, but with her gentle demeanor and love of treats, she’ll quickly become a star pupil!
•	Ideal Home: Neli would thrive in a calm environment with an individual, couple, or family. She hasn’t met cats yet, so a cat-free home is preferred.
