Magnificent, friendly boy, 2 years old, large (approx 30kg)

Another German shepherd who has themselves in an overcrowded shelter. King was brought in as a stray in May 2024.

King paces his cage all day long, going insane seeing those same 4 walls day in day out. You can see in the video him circling within his cage. Clearly very stressed with pent up energy and desperate for affection. Despite this, he is the most friendly boy.

He’s a typical German shepherd - intelligent, brave, and confident. He is ready to devote his time and energy to his forever family.

King is very friendly towards people and shares his kennel happily with another male dog of similar size. This is a testament to King given the situation he finds himself in, clearly stressed, yet still friendly with people and his kennel mate.

King is a strong boy! He will need an experienced owner who will train him on lead, basic commands, etc. His intelligence and affinity for food should make training that bit easier. He takes treats gently off the shelter staff/volunteers and is beyond excited when he realises he is being taken out for a quick walk!

Any children within the home will need to be 10+ years old as he wants to play and doesn’t realise his size.

As with any shelter or rescue dog, King will need patience, love, and understanding. He will need to be shown how to behave so that he can thrive in a home and be the perfect companion.

Everyone can see King’s potential, we just need someone to give him a chance.

King will be happy as an only dog or could be homed with a resident male or female dog of similar size.
