Phoebe, English pointer, 3 years old, in foster in Hampshire, UK Phoebe was in a shelter in Cyprus for over a year so a lovely fosterer of ours took her in and she landed in the UK just 10 days ago. She is more than ready to find her forever home. Phoebe was originally brought into the shelter as a stray and was skin and bone when she arrived. With some regular meals and TLC she put on some weight and is now a healthy, happy girly. We think Phoebe may have been a hunting dog who just wasn’t good enough - maybe because of her affinity for people and that lifestyle just not suiting her. Although that lifestyle isn’t suitable for a dog at the best of times…but Phoebe especially as she is so friendly and enjoys being around people. This girl just wants to be loved and to get all the cuddles! Phoebe’s foster mum is constantly amazed by how she is adjusting to home life. She is living with 2 resident dogs and they are all navigating their new relationships. They get on well together and Phoebe is good at setting boundaries when one of them becomes too much for her. She would do well either as an only dog or with another dog or 2 that aren’t too dominant. She avoids any conflict and doesn’t have a bad bone in her body. She adores attention and she has waited long enough to find it. She loves her walks so any new home would need to be active. She is extremely curious of the world and everything in it. She has been left off lead in a secure field and her recall is good, often looking back for reassurance and affection. However this will require ongoing training. She’s also super clever and food orientated. Phoebe is toilet trained and hasn’t been destructive in the house.
