BATU is a 2.5-year-old large-sized (30kg) dog with medium energy levels and a heart of gold. BATU's past may be tinged with sadness, having been surrendered by his owner from apartment life to a municipality shelter. This transition has understandably left him wary of human trust, but with patience and affection he is sure to blossom into a loyal companion. BATU is a resilient soul who deserves a second chance at happiness and, in the right loving home, he will learn to see the brighter side of life again. He has such a gentle nature and gets along well with other dogs. He was once confronted with a barking dog in one of the kennel yards and showed excellent manners, remaining calm and composed. This is a testament to BATU in an undoubtedly stressful situation and environment. BATU is shy at first but comes out of his shell a bit once he gets to know the volunteers. He is very calm and easy going during vet visits and enjoys travelling in the car. We think BATU will be happy in a home where he gets out for decent walks, but also a quiet place where he can snooze and spend time with his new family for the rest of the time. He would be happy as an only dog or could live with a dog of similar size. In the shelter he is actually very keen to say hello to all of the other dogs! BATU is probably house trained as he was in a home before. He may also have some basic training but, as with any dog, we recommend this is continued. We can’t even imagine what BATU has been through since he entered the shelter in April last year. His life turned upside down, completely abandoned by his supposed family. Let’s show him that there is a better world out there and that he deserves his happy ending just as much as any other dog.
