Hello, I’m Sandy.
I’m a young, delicate girl with a very gentle heart, looking for a calm and patient forever home where I can finally feel safe enough to bloom.

I’m a beautiful hound mix approx 2 years old, with soft white and brown markings and a sweet, timid nature. Life has been a little overwhelming for me so far; I was found running loose with another dog, unsure and frightened. Because of this, I’m still learning how to trust the world and the people in it.

I want to be brave. I want to play, I even jump up from behind to say hello. But when it comes to being approached or touched, I still get scared and will run away. I have never shown aggression—only fear—and I allow handling when needed, though I need support from more than one person because it’s still very new to me.

I’m very good with other dogs, I may bark at dogs through the fence at the shelter but when im out I love running with them and do well with females or males, and all different energy levels. I can also share a space nicely.

Treats are becoming a little confidence booster for me—after months of gentle patience, I’ve started taking them through the fence from hands I trust. When I’m outside, I want to take them, but my bravery hasn’t quite caught up yet. I haven’t discovered toys, and I’m too scared to walk on a lead right now. Car rides also feel overwhelming—I need to be lifted in and out.

I would thrive in a quiet, calm home with patient humans who understand that progress may be slow, but every tiny step forward is a victory. Another dog of a similar size would be wonderful for me—they help me understand what’s safe, and their confidence helps build mine.

I can live with children, but older ones would be best—kids who can be gentle, understanding, and respectful of my fears.

I am a tender soul who needs consistency, kindness, and someone who truly cares. A loving home would help me unwind, feel secure, and slowly blossom into the sweet, playful girl I want so much to be. If this is you, please message this page or apply via the website.
