GINNY’S STORY – TWO MONTHS ON THE STREETS, AND A LIFETIME OF LOVE STILL WAITING TO BE FOUND.

Please, could you help us find a home for Ginny? Ginny is a very sweet little lady, approximately 10 years old. For more than two long months, she wandered the streets of an entire town in Cyprus. She was tired, dirty and exhausted, trying to survive day after day, with nowhere safe to rest and no one to call her own. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of people must have seen her. Some people even took the time to post about her on social media.

Yet, for two whole months, Ginny continued to wander the streets, waiting for someone to change her life. I cannot help wondering how many times she walked past people, hoping that someone would stop. How many nights she spent alone. And how many times she must have wondered where she belonged.

We do not know Ginny’s past. But looking at her condition when she was found, and considering how long she was left wandering the streets, I fear that life has not been kind to her. But Ginny’s story does not have to end this way.

Today, Ginny is finally safe. She is staying at a private boarding kennel, where her needs are being taken care of. She has been vaccinated and spayed, and her 4DX test and leishmaniasis test are negative. Following extensive veterinary investigations, we discovered that Ginny had some kidney weakness. With conservative treatment using Pronefra, her kidney values have remained normal for the past four months. She simply needs to continue eating a special renal diet to support her kidneys.

Sadly, because Ginny was an older, unspayed female, she had developed a uterine prolapse, which was surgically removed when she was spayed. She also underwent a mastectomy because of enlarged mammary glands. These findings suggest that she may have had several litters during her life. We can only imagine how much her little body has been through. And yet, despite everything, Ginny remains an absolute sweetheart.

She is small to medium-sized. She is exceptionally well-behaved, calm and gentle.

She gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She is also good with cats.

She walks beautifully on the lead. She is quiet, undemanding and causes no trouble at all. Ginny is not asking for much. She does not need grand adventures, a huge garden or endless hours of activity. She needs a comfortable bed, gentle walks, a peaceful home and someone who will love her simply because she is there. Perhaps she would be the perfect companion for someone who is looking for a calmer, older dog.

Someone who understands that love does not have an age limit, and that the bond we share with an animal is not measured by the number of years we may have together, but by the happiness we give each other.

PLEASE, LET US NOT ALLOW GINNY TO SPEND THE REST OF HER LIFE BEHIND KENNEL BARS.

She has already spent so much time wandering alone. She has already waited long enough for someone to care. We cannot change the years behind her. We cannot undo the hardships she may have endured. But together, we might be able to give her something she may never truly have had before: a home where she belongs, a person who chooses her, and the feeling of being safe and loved. Imagine Ginny sleeping peacefully in her own little bed, enjoying the warmth of a home, following her favourite person from room to room, and finally discovering that not all humans will let her down. Imagine her spending her golden years knowing that she will never have to face the streets alone again. Is that really too much to ask for a little soul who has already been through so much?

We are desperately looking for a loving, responsible forever home for Ginny in the UK. We know that older dogs are often overlooked. We know that her medical history may make finding a home more challenging. But we also know that somewhere out there, there may be someone whose heart is waiting for a dog just like Ginny.
