About Dodger

Dodger is a gentle and sensitive young dog looking for a patient and understanding home where he can continue to build confidence and learn that people can be trusted.

He entered rescue as a stray, and it is likely that he has experienced unkind treatment in the past. As a result, he can be cautious and nervous when first meeting new people and may still cower when a hand reaches over his head. Despite this difficult start in life, Dodger has shown remarkable resilience and is slowly gaining confidence in a safe and supportive environment.

While he may not immediately approach for attention, those who allow him to progress at his own pace will discover a sweet-natured and affectionate companion. Once trust has been established, Dodger forms rewarding bonds and enjoys being part of a loving home.

Ideal Home

Dodger would thrive with:

Quiet, patient and understanding owners
Individuals or families willing to allow him time to settle and build trust
A single person, couple, or family with children aged 12 years and over
A home with a resident dog of a similar size, for companionship and confidence building, if applicable
No large dogs
Temperament and Characteristics
Medium energy level
Travels well in the car
Walks calmly and generally ignores other dogs when out and about
Lives happily alongside other dogs of a similar size
Could benefit from living with another compatible dog
Continues to make progress with his confidence and lead training

Dodger can occasionally need reassurance when having his lead fitted, and his confidence-building work will need to be continued by his adopters. However, he responds well to patience, consistency, and positive encouragement.
