Sometimes, one infected sand fly bite changes a dog's life… but it should never define their future. 💔✨

On May 7th, handsomel Moose was found wandering as a stray together with his friend, Ruger. No one knows how long they had been struggling to survive on their own, but from that day on, Moose's life slowly began to change. ❤️

His blood tests revealed that he was positive for Leishmaniasis—a diagnosis that, unfortunately, often prevents wonderful dogs from finding the loving families they deserve.

But Moose is a true fighter. 💪🐶

He has successfully completed his Milteforan treatment and, as you can see today, he is a happy, healthy boy with no visible signs of the disease. 🌟

Moose is around 3–4 years old, medium-sized, a Hound Cross. He has the sweetest, gentlest personality.

🐾 He absolutely loves children.
🐾 He gets along beautifully with every dog at the shelter.
🐾 He enjoys travelling in the car. 🚗
🐾 Most of all, he loves cuddles, affection, and being close to people. 🤍

He will soon be neutered and then he'll be ready to travel to meet the family he's been waiting for all his life. 🏡🐾

❤️ Moose's veterinary expenses have already been covered by our pound volunteers, including his blood tests, vaccinations, neutering, and microchip, making his adoption as easy as possible for his future family with a lower adoption fee. (The family will only have to cover his Brucella test and the flight cost).

Please don't let the word Leishmaniasis scare you.

Moose is not his diagnosis.

He is a loving, grateful soul who simply had the misfortune of being bitten by an infected sand fly. That should never be the reason he spends the rest of his life behind kennel bars.
