All about this dog…
Karma
Karma is a very people-oriented dog. She gets along well with other dogs, but we believe she would be happiest as the only pet in the family, as she truly loves having her person all to herself. When she lived in foster care with another dog, there were moments when Karma would gently push the other dog away from the person to get all the attention. At the same time, she can peacefully coexist with other dogs — she plays with them or simply lies nearby without any issues. Karma loves eating fresh carrots and is genuinely curious about everything new. When she sees something for the first time — for example, someone opening a package — she watches the process with big, fascinated eyes and sometimes looks adorably surprised. It really seems like Karma can even watch TV 😂 She walks nicely on a leash and knows some basic commands. Karma handles car rides and vet visits very well. She is now fully recovered and feeling great. Karma’s story began when she was found completely alone on the road as a tiny puppy. She had most likely been hit by a car and was left there to die. She was taken to a shelter, where she lived in a kennel with around 30 other dogs. After some time, volunteers noticed that Karma was moving poorly and took her to a veterinary clinic. There it was discovered that her spine was broken. The prognosis was not optimistic. Surgery was performed, and although the vets warned that she might never be a “typical” dog — that she might not walk long distances or even go to the toilet on her own — Karma had other plans. During her rehabilitation, she showed an incredible will to live. Step by step, with daily care and therapy, she made progress that no one expected. Two months later, when Karma returned to the clinic for a follow-up, the vets could hardly believe their eyes. Against all expectations, she had overcome everything. Today, Karma can go to the toilet independently and happily joins walks in the mountains with other dogs. Her determination, together with the dedication of a volunteer and caregivers, made the impossible possible. Today, Karma lives like any other dog. She is fully healthy and vaccinated, and her rehabilitation is complete. She has not yet been spayed, as veterinarians recommend waiting until after her second heat so her bones can fully stabilize. Karma has a stabilizing structure with metal screws in her spine that does not require removal or further treatment. One of the screws is broken, but it causes her no discomfort and does not affect her quality of life. There are no visible signs of her injury — Karma is living a normal, happy dog life, despite her heartbreaking past.
