Kangal Shepherd Dogs often find themselves in shelters, abandoned due to their size. We made a promise to help find them all loving homes. One of them is our beautiful Ntina (pronounced Dina). Ntina is approximately 3.5 years old. She simply adores people, cuddles, and attention. A rather large girl - aka a ‘gentle giant’ - weighing approximately 50 kilograms. Ntina is easy to get along with and is much loved by the shelter staff and volunteers. They want nothing more than to see her have her happy ever after. Ntina was found as a stray, and it is hard to understand how anyone could abandon a dog like Ntina and leave her to fend for herself, especially a dog of her size and with her thick coat. Temperatures of 40 degrees on the streets of Cyprus in summer could not have been easy for her. Even now, it’s not easy living in the shelter in such temperatures but at least she is cared for. Ntina is friendly and placid with people and children, but due to her size she will need an experienced handler, and any children in the home must be over 12 years old. She needs a home where she can enjoy plenty of cuddles as well as walks. Ntina needs to be the only dog as she can be selective around other dogs. But, also, given her temperament and adoration for humans, we think she would likely be happiest kas the only dog in the home regardless. She can be adopted in the UK or Cyprus and will travel with a passport.
