Luca was found roaming with other hunting dogs in Limassol. It took a few weeks to catch him because he was scared but at the same time he was ill and wanted to be helped. The leash dragging the collar around his neck scares him. So we picked him up with a big hug and he was happy to get in the car and go to the vet and home in the yard. The way he had been castrated was brutal. His testicles were tied up so firmly until gangrene caused them to decay and drop off. This was of course a slow and very painful time for him and Luca experienced a lot of pain and trauma and was also possibly beaten by the owner he had had. An unnecessary, unjustified bad treatment for the young dog, since he has adorable, sweet and easy going character. When he first came in his foster home he chose a spot where he felt secure, happy and calm. He never tried to escape. He longed for cuddles and playtime. As the days past by and his health improved he began running in the yard. He is very quiet and rarely barks. The yard and house is full of cats which he does not bother with at all. Most of the cats ignore his presence; he is that calm and quiet! Whenever he is being called he comes. He enjoys laying around and playing with his chewy toys. He is obedient and understands a "no". He would love company, cuddles and play with humans, so a family with children would make him very happy. He needs tender, loving care, because he is sensitive and has been through harsh experiences. He gets along also with other dogs. Although he becomes more active with time, he never jumps on humans; he is gentle and waiting for loving, caring attention. He is one of the sweetest dogs his foster mum ever had, and, he is ready for lots of snuggles, hugs, kisses and play. A loving home forever would be very lucky to have him, his kindness and his sweet look in his eyes, which would make one's heart melt. He is a real treasure to keep!!!
