All about this dog…

Ansel

Ansel is nearly 3 years old and has been in a shelter in Cyprus since February. He is your typical beagle; happy-go-lucky, loves human attention and affection, cuddly, and he wouldn’t be a true beagle if he wasn’t slightly mischievous!

We have no known history of Ansel other than he was found as a stray. He is a well-rounded boy, has no issues with being touch and isn’t hand shy. He’s friendly with all dogs and generally easy going, which is amazing given the situation he has found himself in.

He enjoys spending time with adults, children, dogs - anything & everyone really. He would suit most home set ups. Ansel is a good boy but equally goofy and a bit of a loon! Always cheering the shelter staff up with his silliness. He has an endearing cartoonish charm that makes everyone smile — think floppy ears, silly zoomies, and the kind of expressions you’d see in a classic Disney film.

Ansel would enjoy anything as long as his family are with him, whether it be cuddles on the sofa, a long walk, a play in the garden. He is only a small boy, making him the perfect easy-going companion.

Ansel has leishmania, meaning he is likely to be overlooked, even though he is an absolute joy. Please don’t let this disease define him. It is easily managed with cheap tablets, doesn’t affect how long he will live, doesn’t affect insurance premiums, and cannot be transmitted to other pets or humans. Many dogs live long and happy lives with leishmania. Ansel is otherwise a healthy boy. We just hope someone sees how wonderful he is regardless of leishmania.
