Casper

Casper ❤️ – 4.5-year-old Crossbreed
Long-term resident • Foster considered • Reduced adoption fee

Casper is now officially one of the longest residents at Simba Shelter in Cyprus. This sweet boy has watched so many dogs leave before him, and it’s heartbreaking to see such a wonderful dog still waiting.

Why is Casper still overlooked?
It’s rarely about who he is — it’s often about the things adopters think they want:
• He’s 4.5 years old (many people choose younger dogs)
• He’s a larger boy
• He’s black and tan — a colour combination that sadly gets passed by
• He’s selective with other dogs and best suited as the only pet
• He needs someone willing to give him time to bond and settle

But here’s what people miss when they walk past him:

Casper is incredibly clever, willing, and eager to please.
Spend even a short time with him at the shelter and you’ll see how affectionate he is. He soaks up every bit of human contact — kisses, cuddles, attention, he loves it all. He absolutely lights up when volunteers visit.

He’s a strong lad with medium–high energy, so he’ll thrive in an active home. Hiking, running, exploring — he’d make a brilliant partner for someone who loves the outdoors. He also needs good mental stimulation, and because he’s so bright, training with him would be genuinely rewarding.

Casper would suit:
• An experienced adopter
• A home with no other pets
• Someone willing to invest time, patience and love
• Someone active who can support his energy needs

Casper has spent far too long in kennels, and it’s taking a toll. He deserves a real chance — a person who sees past the labels and recognises the incredible dog he is.

If you give Casper your commitment, he will give you back tenfold.

He just needs that one special person willing to help him leave the shelter behind and finally start the happy life he deserves. ❤️
