ADOPT SIMON Simon is around 1.5-2 years old He has an affinity for people. He adores spending quality time with volunteers that visit the shelter. For now, he is cheeky and happy. Simon has been in the shelter since July, so the fact that he is still his happy self is a testament to him. It shows how strong and brave he is, waiting for his family to notice and adopt him. Maybe he doesn’t quite realise that being in a cage day in day out in a shelter is not what life should be like for a dog. We do know that Simon will beside himself with gratitude once it’s his turn to be adopted. Simon will enjoy being part of a family where he has human company most of the time. He does equally enjoy being around other dogs, happily living in a pack with male and female dogs of a similar size. He can be homed with a similar energetic resident dog, or as an only dog where he can lap up all the attention for himself. He would suit an active home and one that also has the time and patience to help him settle into a home environment. Simon gets excited around children so any children would need to be 10+ and dog savvy. He is very friendly with people and dogs and generally a lovable happy-go-lucky boy! If you’re looking for a playful and loving companion, Simon might be the perfect match for you :) Here is what his Shelter says: Simon is a very active doggy, super friendly. He absolutely loves people and is fine with other dogs, not cat tested but can be arranged if he has interest. He is also fine with children but we would suggest older children (over 10 years old) as due to his size and energy he could easily knock over a younger child. He has a tendency to nibble on fingers and pull t-shirts as a form of play! He would benefit from an active home with a fenced yard where he can run and play to spend some of his energy and somewhere where he could be mentally stimulated. He's a very clever boy! He craves human attention and whenever we have visitors he runs to the fence to meet them. He does pull on the lead but I believe he would easily learn not to. He just doesn't get the exercise he needs here.
