About Us
Saving Souls Animal Rescue is a dedicated dog rescue organisation committed to finding loving forever homes for dogs in need. We are a small, passionate team of volunteers working remotely to help dogs get the second chance they deserve.
Role Overview
As an Adoption Co-ordinator, you will play a vital role in our adoption journey — matching rescued dogs with suitable adopters, guiding families through the process, and ensuring each dog finds the right home. You will be the friendly point of contact for adopters and help make adoption a smooth, compassionate experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Review adoption applications and assess suitability
- Arrange a phone call with potential adopters to talk them through the adoption process
- Communicate with potential adopters via email, Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp
- Collect all necessary paperwork to complete a home check
- Liaise with your designated Shelter to ensure you know their dogs and the details of the dogs on the Shelter Manager Database which links to our website are correct for each dog
- Liaise with adopters to ensure they know transportation details
- Keep adoption records up to date and entered into our database (forms, agreements, microchip registration, adoption fees)
- Match dogs with suitable homes based on their needs and adopter profiles
- Provide regular updates to the team on adoptions in progress
- Follow up with adopters post-adoption to ensure dogs are settling in well
- Be a friendly, supportive point of contact throughout the process
Skills & Experience
- Confident communicating with people in a compassionate and professional way
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using email, Messenger/WhatsApp and online forms
- Comfortable speaking with new people on the phone
- Previous rescue or adoption experience, ideally through adopting or fostering one of our dogs and going through the process yourself (ideal but not essential)
- Ability to assess situations objectively and make fair decisions

- Able to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
- A team player with a flexible, can-do attitude
Requirements
- This is a volunteer role
- Fully remote – must have access to your own computer/laptop and phone
- Flexible time commitment (a few hours per week; can fit around your schedule)
